MAARA funded research presented at BSACI

Two studies funded by MAARA were presented as posters at the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology 2009 annual meeting, abstracts from which will be published in the society’s journal “Clinical & Experimental Allergy”.

We are proud to announce that Abbie Fairs’ abstract and poster “The relationship between Aspergillus fumigatus sensitisation and sputum culture” won the Barry Kay award for clinical (adult allergy). The Barry Kay award for best abstract recognizes Professor Kay’s national and international contributions to the field of allergy and asthma, which have inspired so many young allergists and chest physicians.

Anniversary of MAARA- 2008

In 2008, MAARA  celebrated its 40th anniversary. The charity was founded in 1968 by Dr Harry Morrow Brown to help everyone with asthma and allergies. From small beginnings in Derby the charity expanded its research and expertise in Derby and Leicester and during those years it has been able to help many people not only in the East Midlands but also throughout the rest of the UK and throughout the world.

We must say a very big thank you to all the people who have helped MAARA become the charity is today. Without your help and support for these 40 years of we would not be able to fund our research.
